Giuseppa Baranyi was elected President of the Sheridan
Park Association (SPA) for the Sheridan Science and Technology Park,
effective April 1, 2010. She previously held the position of Vice-President.
Giuseppa is manager of the Materials Integration
Laboratory at the Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC), which is
responsible for the functional evaluation of novel imaging and marking
materials including toners, inks, photoreceptors and fusers; and coordinator
of communications and public relations. She also manages the XRCC
photoreceptor materials program and has contributed to the development and
commercialization of several key technologies.
Giuseppa has held a variety of scientific and
managerial positions at XRCC, including principal scientist, and most
recently, manager of strategy and operations, where she was responsible for
R&D planning, intellectual property management, communications and human
resources. She holds 30 U.S. patents and has authored 40 scientific papers.
Giuseppa is a member of the Chemical Institute of
Canada and the American Chemical Society, and serves on the board of
directors of the Sheridan Science and Technology Park Association and the
Mississauga Technology Association.
